The Libraries of Murcia celebrate Book Day with literary recommendations, storytelling and workshops through social networks (22/04/2020)

| The program consists of a selection of 17 videos that will be broadcast at different times from tomorrow until next Sunday | The Municipal Library Network of Murcia (RMBM), dependent on the Department of Urban Agenda and Open Government, led by Mercedes Bernabé, celebrates Book and Copyright Day, which is commemorated tomorrow, April 23, with a schedule special for the whole family and to enjoy from home.The program is made up of a selection of 17 videos on different topics, such as storytelling, literary recommendations for adults, children and people with reading difficulties, a magic show and a cooking workshop.The recordings have been made, for the most part, by the librarians of the Murcia centers, but also by users of the libraries and the magician Abel.

They will be broadcast from the YouTube channel of the City Council and that of the RMBM and broadcast on social networks at different times, from tomorrow, April 23, until Sunday, April 26.Unesco approved in 1995 the celebration of World Book Day on April 23, coinciding with the date of the death of Miguel de Cervantes and William Shakespeare.

Since then, this commemoration has served to promote reading, as well as to defend and protect the publishing industry and copyright.

"This year, we entered the homes of citizens, thanks to social networks and technology, with a complete and varied program in which we encourage Murcia to enjoy reading with a selection of different videos," says Mercedes Barnabas, who appreciates the effort and dedication of the Libraries staff "to make this day a little more special." EBiblio tutorial: Toñi Bernal, from the Pelagio Ferrer Library in El Palmar, teaches users how the eBiblio electronic book loan platform works.

Presentation of the Book Day 2020.

Librarians and workers of the Libraries of Murcia, in addition to the councilor Mercedes Bernabé, start this festivity with an audiovisual montage of books and literary recommendations.-At 12.00.

Storyteller: Joana López, from the Pelagio Ferrer Library in El Palmar, will narrate 'Where the monsters live', by Maurice Sendak.-At 1:00 p.m.

Literary recommendation: María Eugenia Lorca, from the 'Puente Tocinos' Library, will speak about the work of Spanish literature 'Fortunata y Jacinta', by Benito Pérez Galdós (1820-1920) for the centenary of his death.-At 5:00 p.m.

Storytelling: Victoria Ruíz, from the Saavedra Fajardo Library, will narrate 'My big bear, my little bear and me', by Margarita del Mazo and Rocío Bonilla.-At 7:00 p.m.

Show: The magician Abel will offer the show 'The magic of books'.FRIDAY, APRIL 24-At 11.30 a.m.

Literary recommendation: Jerónimo Iborra, user of the Cabezo de Torres Library, will talk about the work of Mario Benedetti with the reading of the poem 'I love you'.-At 12.00.

Literary recommendation: Blanca Sánchez, from the San Basilio Library ', will discuss the works of Philip K.

Dick, science fiction author with books such as' Do androids dream of electric sheep? ', Adapted to the cinema in the classic' Blade Runner '.-At 5:00 p.m.

Storyteller: Santiago Azorín, from the Saavedra Fajardo Bibliomercado, will narrate 'El hada fea'.-At 7:00 p.m.

Easy reading recommendation: Ana Guillén, participant of the Easy Reading Club of the San Basilio Library, in collaboration with Assido, will speak about the work 'When you open the parachute', by Defreds - José Antonio Gómez Iglesias.

This section is for everyone, but especially for those who have reading difficulties.-At 4:00 p.m.

Storytelling: Juan Sánchez, from the Cronista Antonio Botías Library of Sangonera la Verde, will narrate 'Diamante y culebras', a story from the Murcia Region; He also recommends 'The Book of Spanish Monsters', by Ana Cristina Herreros and Jesús Gabán.-At 4.30 p.m.

Workshop: Santiago Azorín, from the Saavedra Fajardo Bibliomercado, will teach how to make dumplings.-At 11.30 a.m.

Storytelling: Conchi Campillo, from El Puntal Library, will narrate 'El Pollo Pepe', by Nick Denchfield and Ant Parker.-At 4:00 p.m.

Storytelling: Cecilia Martínez, from the Pelagio Ferrer Library and the RMBM central, will narrate 'La salva de Sara', by Emilio Urberuaga.
