The Museum of Science and Water of Murcia and the Association of Scientific Dissemination of the Region of Murcia, adapting to the circumstances produced by the Covid-19 health crisis, launch the new series of conferences 'Murcia Divulges in the Networks'.
This new initiative opens tomorrow, Wednesday, April 15 at 7:00 p.m. with the virtual conference of the mathematician, popularizer, and professor at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche, Santi García Cremades, in which he will analyze the numbers behind the pandemic of COVID-19.
The talk, titled 'Covid-19: the best time for the numbers', can be followed open by accessing through the link https://youtu.be/0vpOL9n1f3Y
Santi García Cremades is a mathematician, an associate professor at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche and a well-known scientific disseminator, whom we can follow through social networks and in the media as 'Raíz de 5' or 'Gente Despierta' on Radio Nacional de Spain.
He is also the author of the book A Perfect Number (Oberon) and the YouTube channel 'Raíz de Pi'.
As the author himself warns, unfortunately this is the best time to let the numbers speak.
In just a few weeks we have become accustomed to listening to the media talking about geometric progressions, logarithmic scales or reproductive factors, which we do not fully understand.
With the help of mathematics and with the vision of Santi García Cremades, those who view the talk will be able to analyze what the numbers of infected and deceased published daily indicate and how they can help overcome this situation.
The activity is aimed at the general public, regardless of their age;
Attendance is free by accessing through the aforementioned link.
After the speaker's intervention, a question time will open, raise questions and expand knowledge, which attendees can transmit through the chat enabled on the page.
