The website of the University of Murcia incorporates from this Monday the virtual assistant 'Carina' to answer user questions about COVID-19.
This chat bot can be found on the special web page on the coronavirus of the University of Murcia (https://www.um.es/web/universidad/contener/coronavirus) and which is accessed through the web cover of the UMU.
'Carina' is developed by the company 1MillionBot and, through artificial intelligence, provides 24-hour attention by answering user questions.
'Carina' answers all the basic, and many specialized, questions about the coronavirus: contagion, symptoms, prevention and measures derived from the government's alarm.
It already answers 89.73% of the questions (among that remaining 10.27% there are questions that currently have no answer).
The company 1MillionBot has made this virtual assistant available to all public bodies and entities that request it to insert it in their web pages or general information services.
1 MillionBot is the same company that developed the virtual assistant 'Lola', which for almost two years has been informing UMU students and future students about the admission processes through the institution's website.
The University of Murcia was the first university to incorporate this virtual assistance service for users.
'Carina' has been developed by a multidisciplinary group of 1MillionBot experts, led by Dr. Raquel Pomares (biologist) and with specialists in different areas of knowledge (biologists, linguists, sociologists, engineers).
The chat bot extracts your information only from official sources such as the World Health Organization, the Ministry of Health and government regulations, Center For Disease, Control and Prevention and scientific articles.
