More than 200,000 calls
Throughout 2019, the local police have attended a total of 207,446 calls, surpassing the 2018 figure, which was 199,568 calls, 47,000 more than in 2017 and 72,000 more than in 2015.
At the service of society at all levels
The Local Police work at the service of society, with jobs such as the Family Care and Protection Team, the Citizen Relations and Care service, as well as deploying its discreet and effective work against gender violence and helping minors, "working in the security of our municipality at all levels," José Ballesta said.
The last service launched by the Local Police Corps is the Antigorrillas Team, created in March 2020, whose main responsibility is the surveillance and control of the 'valet parking', avoiding the problems posed daily by drivers at the time to park.
Other services incorporated in recent years are the Tourist Police - a group created in September 2018, which served 663 people in 2019 - and the Leisure Police, a service that started in November 2018 and has already carried out more than 2,700 inspections. locals, ensuring the well-being of Murcia, with the mission of making the right to leisure compatible with the right to a quality of life worthy of the residents.
Two new drones, the latest acquired media
The City Council has recently acquired two drones for the performance of different police functions, equipping this body with adequate technology, which will be mainly used by the Ecological Patrol.
Four vans equipped to be used by the Special Group for Citizen Security, a truck for signaling tasks and to support urban mobility, and eight large-capacity motorcycles have also been purchased.
