The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the councilor for Culture and Heritage Recovery, Jesús Pacheco, the president of the Federation of Peñas Huertanas, Juan Pablo Hernández, and the secretary of the Sardinera Association, Francisco Javier Valverde, reported this morning in a press conference held electronically in the Corregidor Room on the latest measures taken in relation to the Spring Festival, the celebration of which has been postponed.
"The representatives of two of the most popular festivals in Murcia, such as the Bando de la Huerta and the Burial of the Sardine, are setting an example of height and responsibility by agreeing, together with the City Council, on this decision," said José Ballesta , who noted that "Murcia will celebrate its Spring Festival in Murcia when the health authorities recommend it."
By postponing the Spring Festivities, which will be held when the circumstances are suitable and the health authorities advise it, two of the festivals with the greatest follow-up and assistance among Murcians are postponed, such as the Bando de la Huerta and the Burial of the sardine.
In this context, all the events included in the Spring Festival are postponed - the Bando children's parade, the parades organized by the Sardinean Group, the Battle of Flowers, etc.
- in addition to the International Festival of Tunas.
"Nothing will stop the vitality, energy and strength that we Murcia have.
We will move forward, all together, as we have always done â€, added the mayor of Murcia.
