José Ballesta: "Public health is a priority for the City of Murcia, which is why the Health Committee has been set up, to adopt the decisions that we must take at all times from the hand of health professionals, always seeking the balance between prudence and general alarm "
The City of Murcia has postponed the massive acts to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, a decision that has been taken this morning by the Health Committee in the Corregidores Hall, chaired by the mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, and formed by professionals from the health, the services of Culture, Personnel and Pedanías, as well as by Social Services, members of the municipal Corporation and agents of Local Police.
“Public health is a priority for the City of Murcia, which is why a Health Committee has been set up in relation to the coronavirus episode that is being experienced on the national scene, in order to adopt the decisions that we must take in every moment of the hand of the professionals of the health, always looking for the balance between the prudence in this type of cases and the general alarm â€, highlighted José Ballesta.
This Committee met yesterday and this morning, and will hold meetings to study the assessment of the situation, analyzing it and establishing a series of recommendations.
The deferred events organized by the Consistory
Specifically, the Health Committee has taken this morning the decision to postpone the mass events organized by the City of Murcia to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, among which is the Murcia Moves event, scheduled for Friday, which was going to congregate between 3,000 and 4,000 young people.
The Murcia Play congress also changes its date, being postponed until September, since it would also involve the congregation of between 3,000 and 4,000 people, many of them from outside the Region.
Likewise, the delivery of medals to the Local Police, institutional act organized by the City Council on March 17, is postponed, since it is a strategic collective for this type of cases, as well as the Culture and Citizenship conferences that the Consistory I had planned for this Thursday, and a series of open days of the Telecare service and the Juan Carlos I conciliation center planned for this weekend.
