The Councilor for Education and Infantile Schools, Belén López Cambronero, has visited this morning the CEIP Ramón Gaya of Puente Tocinos, where the project 'A school in equality' is developed.
This initiative seeks to train students in respect, tolerance and equality between men and women, especially with students in the Early Childhood and Primary Education stage, in order to help eliminate gender-related stereotypes and prevent situations of sexist discrimination in the future.
'A school in equality' is part of the Equality Plan that is developed in this center and that is made up of different activities that are carried out in a transversal way, integrating the gender perspective in the two-stage curriculum, promoting training egalitarian and coeducational in topics such as personal autonomy, emotional education, emotional education or peaceful conflict resolution.
Councilor Belén López Cambronero has highlighted "the work put in place by the educational community of CEIP Ramón Gaya through this innovative project that will surely ensure that its students acquire skills in gender equality."
The objectives of this Equality Plan are to detect and diagnose sexist attitudes that still prevail in school and modify them;
prevent violence from the earliest ages;
teach and promote dialogue as a way to clarify ideas and solve problems;
demystify the feminine and / or masculine tasks;
educate in empathy;
promote school conditions that favor corrective educational practices of gender stereotypes;
consolidate a coeducational written language in all the documents of the center;
and promote oral language in which both sexes are included and in which there are no sexist prejudices when naming household chores.
