The City of Murcia, coinciding with the inauguration of the exhibition of the awarded works of the previous edition, presents tonight the call for the XXVIII Municipal Artistic Creation Contest, CreaMurcia 2020, with the aim of continuing to promote and promote the creativity of artists emerging Murcia.
After twenty-eight years of existence, this Contest is a priority framework of cultural expression of emerging artists, both in terms of production and in the exchange of ideas, being by extension a privileged showcase of new creations in the strategy of the trends of the art, contributing to reinforce the idea that a greater capacity for communication and artistic expression is achieved through art and creativity.
The budget for this edition reaches 220,000 euros, 16,000 euros more than the previous edition, plus an additional 15,000 euros to facilitate the use of rehearsals for music groups.
The purpose of this event is to address the multidisciplinary diversity and experimentation of current artistic practice, in which it comprises a total of 13 disciplines that in turn bring together a wide variety of the most current artistic trends, being the following: electronic, hip -hop and experimental in Music Other Trends;
painting and sculpture in Plastic Arts;
digital art, animations, installations and video art in Visual Arts;
design of clothing and accessories in Fashion Design;
corporate identity, typography, editorial, graphic communication, packaging and graphic in Graphic Design;
story, poetry and short story in literature;
theater, dance, puppets, performances, monologues or circus in Performing Arts, more Pop-Rock, Song of Author, Gastronomy, Short and Documentary, Photography and Comic, explained Rebeca Pérez.
"All the emerging artists of our city will have in this convocation of CreaMurcia, a large showcase where they can project their creations, since there is a great diversity of disciplines. This event has become the starting point for many Murcians who are currently developing their national or international career "highlighted Rebeca Pérez.
In this edition of the Contest, the Fashion Design calls are held, the Microrelationship modality within Literature and the call, Graphic Design, being currently the contest for young artists that more disciplines call nationwide.
On the other hand, registrations can continue to be made online, which makes it possible, especially for those residing outside of Murcia, to be able to appear at the event without formalizing their registration at the offices of the Municipal Youth Service.
In addition, and as part of the Contest, the City of Murcia, in order to promote the most prominent artists of this call, will promote their participation in meetings, exchanges, events and artistic and cultural events both nationally and internationally.
Highlights the artistic mobility projects in the national territory through the Tejiendo Redes program where the City Councils of Murcia, Madrid, Malaga, Valencia, Logroño, Soria, Vitoria, Pamplona and Zaragoza, among others are integrated.
In this way, the City of Murcia will also include artists in the municipal program of events such as, Lemon Pop, IBAFF, Fantastic Film Festival, Spring and Christmas Festival Activities, among others.
Last year, more than 1,500 young people participated in the 13 artistic disciplines.
