The Department of Education and Infantile Schools, directed by Belén López, has attended today the planting of new trees that has been carried out at Puente Doñana de La Albatalía, an activity that is part of the Forest Plan and will provide the center of new shadow areas.
"Thanks to the Foresta Plan, our students participate in an activity that tries to raise awareness about the care of the environment and the importance of our natural environment for the quality of life of people," said Councilor Belén López.
The center has joined the environmental strategy of the City Council with the planting of 21 copies of 'stormy pawlonia', which will provide shade to the schoolyard.
A total of 82 children of Primary and Primary Education have participated in the activity, which has consisted of a didactic talk about the environment and the planting of trees with the help of the municipal technicians.
Specifically, these activities have already been carried out at the Pintor Pedro Cano centers in El Palmar, the Juan XXIII school in El Ranero and the CEIP Juan Carlos I in Llano de Brujas, San Andrés de Murcia, Nuestra Señora de la Arrixaca and La Paz Children's School.
2,000 new copies distributed in a hundred schools
More than 20,000 schoolchildren in the municipality of Murcia will have new shadow spaces thanks to the Foresta Plan, which will involve the planting of 2,000 new copies distributed in a hundred schools.
This municipal strategy is being developed in other environments such as Murcia Río, in the districts, parks and gardens, medium and roundabouts, in addition to Terra Natura.
Among the trees, priority is given to the planting of native varieties, which adapt to the climate of the municipality and its thermal individuals –Murcia is characterized by having a large temperature difference between day and night, up to 14 degrees, during the Spring and autumn months.
