The construction of a new technical building and facilities for internal use as a circulation cabinet has also been completed.

The government delegate, Francisco Jiménez, announced today the launch of the Murcia del Carmen Station after completing ADIF remodeling works, which are part of the construction project of the New High-Speed ​​Rail Access of the Madrid-Castilla line La Mancha-Valencian Community-Region of Murcia, corresponding to the section of Access to Murcia, permeabilization and integration of the railway track.
The new facilities, which are now fully operational, including the sale of tickets by Renfe, will be presented publicly next week by the delegate himself and other representatives of the Murcia High Speed ​​Society.
The investment made in these works is close to five million euros (VAT included), and the most outstanding actions that have been carried out are the following:
Architectural remodeling of the passenger building
It is a historic building composed of two floors.
The lower floor has a useful area of ​​455 m2, dedicated to public use.
It has a passenger lobby, ticket sales offices, space for toilets and internal offices of a technical nature.
The upper floor has a useful area of ​​277.4 m2 and is intended for administrative use.
In the passenger building an interior rehabilitation has been carried out whose most important action has been the forging of the first floor of the lobby, with the installation of structural steel beams and collaborating sheet with reinforced concrete layer.
The creation of partitions to house the new uses of the building has led to the complete remodeling of flooring, walls, ceilings and carpentry, construction of an elevator, and execution of all kinds of new facilities adapted to the needs of the building and to achieve, as one of its most notable objectives, the improvement of energy efficiency.

It is a new building, consisting of two floors.
The lower floor has a useful area of ​​297.22 m2, intended for the circulation cabinet, sanitary cabinet, transformation centers and rooms for technical use.
The upper floor has an area of ​​299.85 m2 and is intended for administrative use.
The cabinet building has a reinforced concrete foundation and mixed structure of structural steel and reinforced concrete, brick enclosures with air and insulation chamber, aluminum frames with double glazing and inverted roof with gravel finish.
The building houses complementary facilities.
A perimeter urbanization has been carried out for the networks of sanitation, rainwater treatment, electricity, communications and energy connections to the transformation centers, as well as the integration of the building in the station environment.
