More than 3,000 athletes of 41 nationalities and 39 Spanish provinces will run next Sunday the Edp VII Marathon of Murcia.
The Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, presented this morning this sports event that will be held in three modes: a 10-kilometer course, a half marathon 21,095 and the Queen EDP Marathon Murcia test, with a route of 42,195 meters.
Also present at the presentation of the race were the general director of Sports, Fran Snchez, the delegate of Levante EDP, Salvador Navarro, the marketing and communication director of Huertas Motor, Inmaculada Fernndez, and the director of the Murcia Challenge Club, Francisco Murcia, and the technical director of Marathon of Murcia, Francisco Snchez.
It is a new homologated circuit that runs through the urban area of the city of Murcia, promoted and organized by the City of Murcia, the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia, the Murcia Challenge Club and thanks to the sponsorship of EDP, Huertas Motor, Estrella de Levante and UCAM.
"One more year the city will be visited by athletes from five continents and from the different Spanish cities, which makes it an already established test among professionals and fans of running," explains Councilman Felipe Coello.
The Murcia Marathon will start at 9 am from La Glorieta.
The goal has been set in the Plaza Cardenal Belluga, which will receive the runners with the Murcia Cathedral as a backdrop for this international sporting event.

The Councilor for Sports encourages "all Murcia and Murcia, associations, clubs and sports centers to participate in the Murcia Marathon, a test that this year will also be more flat, thus adapting to all runners, and that promises to become a day of sports coexistence ”.
Marathon Kids, as a novelty
The Murcia Marathon includes this year as a novelty a test for children, which has been called Marathon Kids.
This will be held on Saturday, February 1 with departure at FORUS Murcia from 12.00.
EDP and Huertas Motor sponsor this race by giving away 1,000 bibs to all children who wish to enroll, thus framing the values of sports in education.
The test is open to any minor child in categories SUB-8, 10, 12, 14 and 16.
Free physiotherapy service
The runners will have a goal of physiotherapy service for muscle discharge or relaxation, podiatry service and an individual bag with water, isotonic and food.
The organization will make available to the participants hares that will set a fixed pace during the race to make different brands.
Likewise, the organization will make available to the participants some provisioning areas every 5 kilometers and goal, with solid and liquid food.
