The work that has started today involves not only the repair and reinforcement of the road sign, but also the installation of a safety and containment barrier that separates the road from the channel of the ditch, avoiding accidents and responding to the request for the neighbors of the surroundings.
The works, which will end in mid-February, are part of the Pedanías Investment Plan, endowed with 14 million euros.
The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the councilor of Pedanías y Barrios, Marco Antonio Fernández, visited today the start of the works to improve the safety and performance of the Camino del Reguerón, in the Murcian hamlet of Alquerías, which will facilitate the circulation of the more than 6,000 neighbors of this population center.
The works, which involve an investment of 92,665 euros, will be completed in mid-February and affect an approximate length of 1,176 m and an average width of 5,50 m.

In this way, safety is increased along the service road of the Reguerón ditch, which begins at the intersection with the Carcanox Road (in the northeast direction) and ends at the intersection with the Basca Trail, in the limit with the municipal term of Beniel.
The repair of the road will allow the transverse drainage of the platform both towards the Reguerón ditch and towards the Carcanox ditch.
In addition, clearing work will be carried out on each margin.
The vertical signaling will also be reinforced with the installation of speed limitation signals at 40km / h given the narrowness of some sections and signals that warn drivers at the different existing intersections.
The two continuous white lines of delimitation of the roadway, currently non-existent, will be painted and the existing horizontal signage will be repainted.
Investment Plan in Pedanías: 14 million euros
This project that the City Council is executing in Alquerías is part of the Investment Plan in Pedanías which, with an investment of 14 million euros, includes projects in ten other population centers: Espinardo, Corvera, Era Alta, Gea and Truyols, Guadalupe, Javalí Nuevo, Los Garres, Los Ramos, Santa Cruz and Zeneta.
