The Bernal Theater in El Palmar kicks off a new stage and programs around thirty shows until June (29/01/2020)

The actors Héctor Alterio and Alberto San Juan, the singer-songwriter Javier Ruibal, a 'Sabinera Night' and numerous family shows stand out in the programming.

The change in its management allows progress in the coordination of the three municipal theaters and in the creation of a small network that integrates the scenarios of the city of Murcia and the districts

The Bernal Theater of El Palmar starts a new stage after the renewal of its equipment and presents its programming until next June, which will be composed of a total of 31 shows.

This was announced today by the Councilor for Culture and Heritage Recovery of the City of Murcia, Jesus Pacheco, and the director of the theaters of Murcia, Juan Pablo Soler, responsible for programming.

The play 'Mauthausen, the voice of my grandfather';

'Like 3,000 years ago ...', with Héctor Alterio, and 'New York in a poet', by the actor and director Alberto San Juan, are some of the most outstanding theatrical proposals of the Bernal, which also includes concerts such as Javier's Ruibal, David Moya and a 'Sabinera Night' with Pancho Varona and García de Diego.

"The look at shows that show the current stage scene, both theatrical and dance, humorous and musical, will be combined with that of the Murcian scene, since a third of the program will be starring companies and artists from the Region of Murcia. Similarly, children and family audiences will continue to be a priority for the Bernal Theater, with almost a dozen shows designed for children that will take place on Sundays, "said the Councilor for Culture and Heritage Recovery, Jesus Pacheco.

To all this is added the inclusion of the Bernal Theater in cycles and municipal and regional festivals such as the Flamenco Summit of Murcia, the Murcia Jazz Festival and the Festival Titeremurcia, in addition to the Cycle of Amateur Theater that hosts the theater itself, thus integrating this scenario fully in the cultural circuit of the municipality of Murcia.

The change in theater management, with a team headed by Soler, director and head of the artistic side, and Kata Martínez, technical coordinator, allows the union and coordination of the three municipal theaters - Romea Theater, Circus Murcia Theater and Theater Bernal- begin to be a reality.

"The objective is that the three spaces complement each other, preserving the particularities of each scenario and maintaining differentiated programming lines," said Pacheco.

Thus, the first steps are taken towards the creation of a small network that integrates the scenarios of the city of Murcia and the districts and that allows, thanks also to the coordination with the auditoriums, to offer a cultural offer of quality and as complete as possible for all citizens of the municipality.

Internet sale

The Bernal Theater also continues to open to viewers and offer more facilities to learn about its programming and purchase tickets.

To do this, you will have a new web page, through which tickets for all the announced programming will be put on sale.

Similarly, social networks will be renewed, with profiles on Facebook and Instagram.

The ticket office hours will be, in the weeks in which there is programming, from Thursday and Friday, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (or start of the show) and the rest of the days that there is a show, from two hours before from the beginning.

In the same way, a new telephone number has been enabled to inform about the programming: 968 358 613 (at the same time as indicated).

Another possibility will be the telephone sale through InstantTicket, which will be available from Monday to Saturday, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and on Sundays and holidays, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

a show of "theater forum" where the spectators will have a great prominence and will be in charge of deciding how the story should continue.

In 'Como 3,000 years ago ...' (February 21), Héctor Alterio will give life to León Felipe on the 50th anniversary of his death;

Again humor will be the protagonist with 'La Farmacia 2.0' (March 13);

The Flamenco Ballet of Murcia will stage 'I eat it for the feeling' (March 21), and March will end with 'El Lazarillo de Tormes' by Albacity Corporation (March 27), with the sound of the guitar accompanying its fortunes and adversities.

Continuing with the theater, on April 25, Alberto San Juan will give voice to Lorca in 'New York in a poet', while Felix Albo will star in a soliloquy from 'Tanatorium' (May 16).

Theater in Vilo will make you laugh with 'Interrupted' (May 23), turning a perfect life into hell;

The Amateur Theater Series will also consist of three shows that close the theatrical program: 'The good days lost' (February 29), from the Theater Group of El Siscar;

'El landó de six horses' (March 14), from Teatro del Matadero, and 'Coriolano' (May 9), from the San Javier Theater Group.

Within the musical program, the Bernal will host the performance of the singer Sonia Miranda and the Comares group within the XXVII Flamenco Summit of Murcia (February 22);

and on Friday 28, Pancho Varona, Antonio García de Diego, Jaime Asúa and Mara Barros will immerse the public in a 'Sabinera Night'.

Curro García Quintet will offer a concert included in the Murcia Jazz Festival (March 7);

Javier Ruibal will take us to 'Better Paradises' (March 28), and Murcia's David Moya will cover the themes of his album 'The Slow Time of Things' (May 15).

The final point will put, on June 20, Rodrigo Cuevas and his 'Courtship Manual'.

The family shows, which will take place on Sunday mornings, will begin in February with 'Bubbles', a crazy soap bubble comedy;

the sweet proposal of 'Xocolat', by Teatro Paraíso;

the children's 'protest song' of 'I am a mouse', and the tenderness of 'Cuac', included in the Festival Titeremurcia.

In March, the little ones will visit 'The kingdom of the reverse';

the family circus will arrive with 'Think of Wilbur';

by the hand of Pupaclown they will go on stage 'The three little pigs', and again Titeremurcia will be responsible for closing the month, this time with the show 'Country of Babia'.

Sunday's family proposals will end with another puppet festival show: 'The Emperor's New Costume', on April 26.
