The Councilor for the Elderly, Disability and Development Cooperation, Paqui Pérez, today held a meeting with members of the Murcia Cohousing association to discuss the implementation of this collaborative housing model for the elderly, adapted to their present and future needs .
"A new alternative of life for the elderly that is already being developed in other places and that we are interested in addressing as soon as possible from the City of Murcia," said the mayor responsible.
In this sense, Paqui Pérez has emphasized "the need to study new options so that our elders are not alone, an alternative model that allows them to live in company and surrounded by friends, where in addition to having an intimate space they can also share services and leisure ".
The Department of Elders will cooperate with the various associations and groups involved in these new models of life to offer advice, explain what life is like in cohousing and study formulas that allow the implementation of such cooperatives in the municipality of Murcia.
