The Municipal Tax Agency, under the Department of Citizen Security and Economic Management, directed by Eduardo Martínez-Oliva, continues to further improve the facilities for paying taxes and modernizing procedures.
After the approval last November of the resolution to create the Agency's organ seal as well as the use of the Secure Verification Code, the Agency has begun to grant custom installments and payment plans automatically.
Thus, these plans can be requested by voice recording by telephone or online, with certificate identification.
In addition, they will also be offered in any of the offices that the AMT has open in the municipality of Murcia and districts for which it is necessary to provide a bank account where to settle the deadlines.
With this measure, if the debt has not been previously fractioned and some of the standard term plans regulated in the ordinance are accepted, the taxpayer will know instantly if his fractionation or personalized payment plan has been granted, informing him of both fees such as the dates on which the City Council will charge the domiciled account, allowing the citizen to plan their family economy at all times.
Councilor Eduardo Martínez-Oliva, explained that "with this measure the Department wishes to facilitate further compliance with tax obligations to taxpayers, while improving efficiency in granting them through the use of administrative acts automated. "
This automation is only the first of the actions that the AMT plans to implement in the coming months and that will revert to an improvement in citizen service.
Thus, starting next February, the Virtual Office of the AMT will also have a new option that will allow obtaining non-debt certificates in an automated way, which will mean an average saving of 5 days in obtaining each certificate.
Other actions foreseen by the AMT in the coming months are the concession of automated tax benefits, the possibility of payment by direct account charge or the improvement in access to the Virtual Tax Office.
The results guarantee the Town Hall's payment facilities programs since in 2019 more than 96% of the domiciled amount has been collected through personalized payment plans, a number that increases year by year from 6,248 PPP in 2016 to almost 9,000 managed in 2019.
The charge for the different direct debit modalities already accounts for more than 65% of the total collections in the voluntary period.
