The Governing Board has initially approved the project of the Special Plan for the use of the EU. 1 PP CR-5 Avenida Príncipe de Asturias, which will now be submitted to public information.
This will allow the Association for People with Down Syndrome, Assido, to build a residence and a center for the promotion of personal autonomy that will benefit 120 people.
The plot is already assigned and this special plan expands the uses of the plot including assistance.
Thus, it is a Special Plan in an endowment plot whose purpose is to maintain the intended social destination, expanding and adding uses of equipment, adjusting them to the urban planning regulations of the current General Plan on plots for endowment use.
In addition, new building conditions will be defined in the plot to be able to materialize the buildable, in order to build a welfare building with four floors of maximum height.
This new facility will bring together the common services of personal autonomy and a residence to guarantee the assistance to seniors with Down syndrome and its general services, building on which an ideas competition was held and whose winning project was' The importance of living without barriers ', signed by Alfredo Payá, Sonia Miralles and Arturo Calero.
The total area of ​​the plot is 3,140 m2 and borders Príncipe de Asturias Avenue in the south, Doctor Parrilla Avenue in the east and CEIP Nuestra de Belén in the north.
