The socialist spokesman points out that "we have been demanding more than a year from the government team to make decisions" and adds that "it is now fair when we should start implementing initiatives that, rather than mitigate the effects of pollution, begin to prevent them"
The spokesman of the Municipal Socialist Group, José Antonio Serrano, applauds that the government team is responsible and has decided that tomorrow buses and parking lots are free to mitigate the effects of air pollution, which today has returned to level 2, and reduce traffic.
In this regard, remember that this measure of free public transport on the days when worrying levels are reached was announced by the PSOE more than a year ago and then picked it up in its electoral program.
In fact, one of the first motions of this mandate that were defended in plenary was in that sense, but "the PP knocked down the initiative."
However, "we are glad, for the health of our neighbors, that the government team has reconsidered and put this measure into effect."
In addition, Serrano declares that, "unfortunately, pollution problems are not specific, they go further and the episodes are repeated more frequently, so the unavoidable time to take courageous measures has arrived."
Therefore, he believes that "now is fair when we must start to implement initiatives that more than mitigate the effects of pollution begin to prevent them."
