The Convalescence building has welcomed this morning the inauguration of the Councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé, as a member of the Social Council of the University of Murcia, making effective the participation of Murcia civil society in this body of the academic institution.

The Social Council aims to guarantee the intervention of Murcia society in the management and supervision of the University through quality policies and improvement in the various areas of the UMU, as well as fostering relations between it and its cultural, professional environment , economic, social and territorial.

Thus, the City of Murcia is part of this body, located in the Rector's Office of the University of Murcia (Convalescence building), along with other members of Murcia.

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, has presided over the event, together with the rector of the University of Murcia, José Luján, in which the general secretary of CCOO in the Region of Murcia, Santiago Navarro, has also been appointed member.
