The Councilor for Social and Family Rights, Pilar Torres, attended this morning the presentation of the new application 'Conectate.social' of the Phone of Hope, a new platform that offers a service of attention both by phone and WhatsApp, which It is accessible by internet, and that allows to know and register in those activities organized by this association.
The City Council collaborates with the Telephone of Hope granting a grant of 10,000 euros for the realization of projects, courses and activities
In this way, during the past year the association answered more than 8,500 calls offering advice and therapeutic interviews to more than 2,600 people.
For this reason, Torres congratulated the members of Telefonica de la Esperanza, a multidisciplinary team attended by psychologists, family counselors, psychiatrists, lawyers, social workers and other specialists who collaborate voluntarily.
To achieve all this, "they have a network of 125 volunteers with whom from the Department of Social and Family Rights of the City of Murcia we collaborate closely through the Program and Promotion of Volunteers who make it possible to enhance the capabilities of those who wish to help putting at your disposal a specific training in listening techniques and guidance in crisis situations, in addition to providing volunteers with development tools and personal maturity, so that the help they offer is truly effective. "
