The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the president of The Abandoned Jesus Foundation, José Moreno, today presented the Magic Line 2020 solidarity walk, which will take place on Sunday, April 26, in favor of the most vulnerable people.
The Councilor for Sustainable Mobility and Youth, Rebeca Pérez, and the Councilor for Culture and Heritage Recovery, Jesús Pacheco, also attended.
This solidarity march, in which the San Juan de Dios Hospital Order collaborates, aims to “mobilize Murcian society, all family members, to enjoy a fun and healthy day that puts physical activity at social commitment service, â€said José Ballesta, who added that“ this initiative is an opportunity to discover or rediscover some of the most beautiful corners of Murcia, such as the Cresta del Gallo, the new Vía Verde or 'Murcia Río â€.
It is a team march, between 5 and 20 people, who can choose to make the complete walk, 20 km from the Crest of the Rooster until the arrival at the Auditorium of the Fofó Park.
You can also leave from the intermediate section, 10 km from La Estación de Beniaján through the greenway and the speck of the Segura River;
or the last urban section through Murcia, 3 km from the Paseo del Malecón.
All without cutting traffic and promoting knowledge and respect for the green and natural spaces of Murcia, such as the new Greenway that runs along the southern coast or 'Murcia River', also raising awareness about sustainable mobility and promoting recycling.
This walk has already been organized, through the San Juan de Dios Social Work six times in Barcelona, three in Palma de Mallorca and one in Valencia, and now in 2020 it arrives in Murcia next to the Abandoned Jesus Foundation.
José Ballesta said “the total support of the City Council of Murcia to Jesus Abandoned†and thanked the “unparalleled work done by both the Board of Trustees and the brothers of San Juan de Dios and the hundreds of volunteers of the Foundation that, in an altruistic way, make possible that miracle called Jesus Abandoned. â€
Solidarity challenges before the test
“But Magic Line is much more than a walk, because supported by the volunteers and professionals of Abandoned Jesus, the different teams carry out actions to raise awareness and raise funds in their environment to achieve a solidarity challenge before the test, growing the impact on society of this mobilization â€, explained the technician of Sensitization and Education for the Development of Jesús Abandonado, Noelia Baños.
Thus, "with this involvement in favor of the most vulnerable people, we are able to raise awareness and raise awareness about the work being done from the Abandoned Jesus Foundation and the San Juan de Dios Hospital Order with people in situations of social exclusion."
In this commitment to the most disadvantaged "mobilization not only of society, but of institutions and business is key, and we are very grateful for your support from the beginning," said Baños.
This edition in Murcia of Magic Line 2020 has the support and collaboration of the Autonomous Community, the City of Murcia, different educational centers and collaborating entities.
Everything collected by the solidarity challenges of the teams and the inscriptions is destined to the programs that Jesus Abandoned has to help people in a situation of social exclusion, «although a part will be destined to other social entities with which we share objectives », Said the technician.
