Both institutions have renewed their agreement to promote actions such as the industrial doctorate program, research promotion through the chairs in the agri-food field and in CSR, the ecological festival of Microcortos 'La Luciérnaga Fundida' and the UCAM Business Club

The Catholic University of Murcia and Banco Santander, through Santander Universities, have renewed this morning their collaboration agreement with the planning of new joint actions.

The relationship that both institutions have been developing since 2011 is offering great advances in research, employability, entrepreneurship or Social Responsibility, which is reflected in the many joint actions that have been carried out for the benefit of the university community.

The agreement has been signed by José Luis Mendoza, president of UCAM, and José María García de los Ríos, director of Agreements and Patronage of Santander Universities.

Also present, by the University, José Luis Mendoza García, director of Institutional Relations, and by the entity, José Miguel Lorente, territorial director of Santander in the region and Juan Manuel Núñez, director of institutional relations.

Regarding this agreement, José María García de los Ríos has stressed that "it contemplates various actions regarding CSR."

"Among them are a program of scholarships for access to education, for students with delicate socio-economic status, as well as various programs on international mobility," he said.

For his part, José Luis Mendoza García, director of Institutional Relations at UCAM, said that "it is a very important agreement because we renew relations with Santander Universities for four years. They are already 8 years of joint work and basically have three important lines : entrepreneurship support with courses

training;

the support through the RSC chair, which we are within the network of chairs of Santander, and the support for initiatives, scholarships, practices and mobility of students of the university, with which we cover a spectrum of performance in the university very important " .

Creativity and innovation

There are many activities carried out as a result of the agreements between both institutions (UCAM-Santander).

An example of this is the Department of Entrepreneurship in the agri-food sector, created in 2015 and pioneer at the time, in which they will continue working.

Last year the conclusions of a research study on the 'Approximation to the dimensioning of the Agrifood System of the Region of Murcia' were presented.

Likewise, the Chair in CSR highlights that last year organized a national meeting on SDG and Circular Economy in which representatives of a large number of Spanish universities in this area participated.

Banco Santander will also continue to support the program of Industrial Doctorates of the Catholic University of Murcia, thus promoting innovation and the transfer of university-business knowledge.

With regard to scholarships, the agreement also includes a program to help study new students in vulnerable situations;

In addition to the collaboration by the entity in the Ecological Festival of Microcortos 'La Luciérnaga Fundida'.

Likewise, the University Company relationship is promoted through the 'UCAM Business Club' Program, which brings together more than 60 companies sponsoring the football and basketball teams of the Catholic University.
