The Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, along with the Councilor for Social Rights and Family, Pilar Torres, and the mayor of Elderly, Disability and Development Cooperation, Paqui Pérez, presented this morning the VI Network Tournament for Inclusion Social, which will be held every Friday, from January 17 to February 28, at the José Barnés de Murcia municipal soccer field.
Specifically, a total of 200 people, distributed in 10 teams, participate in this edition.
The matches will be played on Friday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Councilman Felipe Coello highlights the importance of sport, "as a tool capable of establishing the means to help overcome differences and promote values ​​for a more just and social development project in which participation is the key to change" .
In this way, the City Council collaborates with this competition in which entities involved in social exclusion participate, such as La Huertecica, the Mental Health Federation of Murcia (FEAFES), Murcia Hosts, Diagram Foundation (Heliotropos Project), Proyecto Hombre , CEPAIM Foundation, ACCEM, Red Cross and Caritas.
"The sport does not understand barriers. Thus, through this tournament, processes of social integration and improvement of the quality of life in people at risk of social exclusion are favored, reducing their isolation, improving their self-esteem and strengthening their personal resources to through group activities of leisure, participation and encounter with society, "says Paqui Pérez.
For its part, the head of Social Rights also highlights the values ​​that intrinsic sports practice.
"This is a complete learning in which participants work on self-discipline, respect for others, self-confidence is strengthened, leadership skills and the ability to work in teams are developed," he says.
In addition to the collaboration of the City Council, the championship has the help of other entities for its organization such as Zuendo, El Pozo futsal, Football Federation of the Murcia region, Cap Ciudad de Murcia Foundation, Rotulos Disnova and DÉCRIS (graphic design) .
