The University of Murcia (UMU) creates the 'Forum ODSesiones' with the objective of involving, promoting and disseminating the ODSesiones project that, from February 2019 until April 2021, organizes more than 300 activities around each of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the United Nations in the 2030 Agenda.
This is a space designed to encourage participation and improve the dissemination of the ODSesiones initiative among the main economic and social institutions of the Region of Murcia.
Therefore, this forum will be constituted next Tuesday, January 14, in an event that will take place in Convalescence, headquarters of the Rectorate, and which will be attended by eleven institutions.
In the 'Forum ODSesiones' public administrations will participate Autonomous Community, City Hall of Murcia, City Hall of Molina de Segura, the Federation of Municipalities of the Region of Murcia, Economic and Social Council (CES) and the Coordinator of the ONGD Region of Murcia employers CROEM and UCOMUR, the Comisiones Obreras and UGT and third sector (EAPN Spain).
The act will be directed by the rector of the UMU, José Luján, accompanied by the vice rector of Social Responsibility and Transparency of the UMU, Longinos Marín.
On the part of the regional government, the Minister of Transparency, Participation and Public Administration, Beatriz Ballesteros, will attend.
After organizing thematic activities on the 'End of poverty' (SDG 1), 'Zero hunger' (SDG 2), 'Health and Welfare' (SDG 3), 'Quality education' (SDG 4), 'Gender equality '(SDG 5),' Water and Sanitation '(SDG 6) and' Affordable and non-polluting energy '(SDG 7), next February SDG sessions organize about twenty activities within the framework of SDG 8:' Decent work and economic growth. '
Activities that in February will host the Faculty of Social Work of the Espinardo Campus and the associated ISEN center, located in Cartagena.
ODSesiones is a project that is sponsored by the regional government, Aguas de Murcia, Bankia and Fundación Cajamurcia.
