The surveillance and control campaign of the Department of Commerce, Markets and Public Roads during Christmas in the grocery stores, weekly and craft markets, self-services, supermarkets and large areas of the municipality of Murcia has obtained a good result.
Thus, all the objectives regarding the number of food establishments for sale to the final consumer that have been visited by the veterinarians of the Consumer inspection service to ensure the sanitary quality of food products such as meat, fish, pastry, confectionery and Other Christmas sweets.
In this way, the 160 retail stalls have been visited in the eight squares of municipal supplies, 450 stalls in the 53 weekly markets, more than 100 self-services, supermarkets and large stores located in the municipality of Murcia, as well as craft markets with sale of typical Christmas products.
During the visits a protocolized inspection of all these positions has been carried out, being able to verify that the vast majority of the premises, facilities and handling practices comply with the hygienic-sanitary conditions required in the regulations in force.
Only 3 disciplinary proceedings and 7 warnings have been promoted for manifest breach of sanitary hygienic conditions in facilities, equipment, handling and traceability of products.
In this regard, the responsible councilor Juan Fernando Hernández has shown his satisfaction because the establishments visited offer the guarantee that the consumer demands and for the excellent collaboration of the owners of the premises visited.
