The Councilor for Sustainable Development and Huerta, Antonio Navarro, visited this morning together with the manager of Aguas de Murcia, Rafael Gómez, the beginning of the works of the definitive deviations of the collectors that are in the environment of the underground works.
These works are a continuation of those already carried out on a provisional basis, whose execution has already been completed.
Currently there is no municipal network that affects the normal development and planning of the underground works.
Thus, on the occasion of the project of new high-speed access to Murcia, EMUASA articulated the necessary solution for the services affected by sanitation, drinking water supply and urban irrigation network.
The proposed main solution is based on the modification of the existing pumping of the Plan Sur Reguerón Wastewater Pumping Station, in Los Dolores, so that it works as a third drainage route in case of episodes of heavy rains, of the hydraulic basins separated by the railroad track: northern basin (drainage through the pumping of the Infante Don Juan Manuel in Av. Pío Baroja) and southern basin (drainage towards the South Perimetral Pumping in Barrio del Progreso).
This reordering of the pumping involves the execution of two collectors (AVE-North and AVE-South) that collect these basins together, joining in a single AVE-Confluence collector to the aforementioned EBAR, as well as an anti-DSU Tank (discharge to the unit system ) of 5,000 m3 of capacity, necessary for the control of pollution in case of public discharge of rainwater.
In this way, the functionality of the system is improved before episodes of heavy rains, with three rainwater management possibilities, for the Carmen neighborhoods, Buenos Aires, Fuensanta and Infante to the north and south, San Pío X neighborhoods, Ronda Sur and Santiago El Mayor, in addition to the railway infrastructure itself.
Navarro explained that "all this results in the efficient, balanced and equal management of resources in line with the principles of sustainable development, energy efficiency, governance, operation and maintenance of the facilities mentioned."
Thus, the works of the AVE North Collector of 1,600 square meters of approximate length have already been completed.
Today begins the execution of the AVE SUR Collector, of 1,175 meters in length, whose work is carried out by the UTE Ferrovial SA-Jumabeda SL, and of the AVE CONFLUENCIA Collector, of 975 meters, which will be executed by Construcciones Ruiz Alemán SA.
According to forecasts, both works will end in the month of September
In addition, work is already being carried out on the expansion of the EBAR Plan Sur Reguerón, which Construcciones Hermanos Espín SLU develops. These works are carried out by means of a new construction procedure requested by the winning company and consisting of the execution of the structure of the pumping pit by means of screen walls.
The completion of the work is scheduled for June 2020.
Finally, at the end of this month of January, the works of the Anti-DSU Tank, awarded to Ferrovial SA will begin and will end according to the forecasts next August.
