The Department of Education and Infantile Schools, directed by Belén López, contributes one more year to the organization of Christmas Schools with the transfer of schools.
Thus, for this holiday period, a total of 33 schools promoted by the AMPAS of the schools have been organized, in 22 public centers of the municipality.
Christmas schools will be held from December 23 to January 3 and about 1,000 schoolchildren are expected to participate this year.
"What is intended is to offer families a complementary service during periods of school break, in addition to providing schoolchildren with resources and activities, so that they occupy their free time in a constructive manner," says Councilwoman Belén López.
For the transfer and organization of holiday centers, the Department informs the centers of the need to communicate to the Service the organization of the Christmas Schools in order to know the schools that are going to carry out the activity and be able to coordinate the cleaning and maintenance services, with which schools are provided during their implementation.
"It is our responsibility to facilitate the use of educational centers, located in the same area or close to each other, so that the AMPAS or other groups jointly organize and plan activities during the holiday period," said the councilor.
Likewise, this service entails optimizing the resources necessary for the development of the activity, such as cleaning or surveillance, improving the organization of maintenance tasks, favoring social relations between the different educational centers, thus generating spaces for coexistence and participation.
