The budgets of the University of Murcia increase 4.03 percent compared to 2019 (17/12/2019)

The Council of Government of this Tuesday also has approved the proposals of two new titles of degree (Management of Information and Digital Contents, and Geographical Science and Technology) and of masters (Management of Risks in the organizations, and Chemical Engineering)

The Governing Council of the University of Murcia approved on Tuesday the 'Memory of the 2018-2019 academic year' and the 'Plan of Actions for the 2019-2020 academic year', which were presented last week at the University Senate.

The UMU manager, José Antonio Cascales, has presented the budgets of the University of Murcia for the year 2020. The expected revenues and expenses for this year amount to 233,557,911 euros, which represents an increase of 4.03 percent With respect to the year 2019.

In addition, the expenditure ceiling has been set at the amount of 279,835,595.98 euros, of which the income from fees and public prices represents 16.28 percent of the total.

The most important item in the Expenditure Budget of the University of Murcia is Chapter 1, 'Personnel Expenses', which in the year 2020 represents 69.33 percent of the total initial credits.

It is followed by chapter 6, 'Real investments', and chapter 2, 'Current expenditures on goods and services', with percentages of 14.93 and 14.21 percent, respectively.

In the investments section, the items dedicated to the works in the Health Sciences Campus (5,570,000 euros), to pre and postdoctoral contracts (2,821,440 euros), to computer resources dedicated to research (1,345,014) stand out euros) and the financing of European projects (1,000,000 euros).

It has also been informed of the call for 30 places as a professor / assistant doctor for next year in areas of knowledge deficit.

3,600,000 euros will be invested in general research infrastructure.

The budgets of the Veterinary Clinic Hospital Foundation and the TICARUM own-medium company have also been approved.

Finally, the proposal for internal structural promotion has been approved, which will allow covering recent and future retirements in groups A2 and A1, mainly in the bodies and scales of Management and Management Technicians that are being produced.

Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor for Studies, Sonia Madrid, has presented the reports of two new bachelor's and master's degrees that will be sent to ANECA for verification.

Specifically, it is the degree in Information Management and Digital Content (Faculty of Communication and Documentation), degree in Science and Geographic Technology (Faculty of Arts with the collaboration of the knowledge area of ​​Town Planning and Management of the Territory UPCT) the master's degree in Risk Management in Organizations (ENAE) and the master's degree in Chemical Engineering (Faculty of Chemistry).

In addition, the joint program of official master's degrees in Teacher Training and Research in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences has been approved.

In relation to faculty issues, the composition of the Five-Year Commission that meets once a year to resolve the call for this specific complement has been renewed.

In addition, it has been reported that the new computer application for permit applications is working correctly.

Finally, Francisco Esquembre, Vice Chancellor for Research, has presented the new regulations for the protection of research results that update a regulation of the year 1995. This new standard clarifies the protection of computer programs owned by the University of Murcia when have been created by institution staff.

In the case of "free software" or open source computer programs, registration may also be carried out for the purpose of public recognition of the author or to facilitate its subsequent dissemination with adequate visibility of the University of Murcia.

Two collaboration agreements for research have also been approved.

The first one is signed with the Ministry of Women, Equality, LGTBI, Families and Social Policy to develop the Project for Evaluation, Diagnosis and Psychological Intervention in Minors (PEDIMET);

The second agreement is signed with the Spanish Association against Cancer in the area of ​​predoctoral aids in Oncology.

It has also been informed of the resolution of different calls for research projects in which the University of Murcia has been the main winner of the regional higher education system.

Finally, the information available on the status of the requests for the transfer sexennia that the CNEAI is processing is transferred to the council.

At the last point of the agenda, the Corporate Training Plan for next year will be approved, which will be carried out by the Training and Professional Development Center.
