Councilwoman Carmen Fructuoso affirms, before the announcement of the closure of the centers of Orilla del Azarbe, Santa Cruz, Cañadas de San Pedro and Cabezo de la Plata that it is going to harm the neighbors of the districts, especially the elderly who have more difficulty moving
The Socialist Municipal Group again denounces another service that is suspended in districts, medical care.
"It is not logical or fair that the neighbors of our municipality remain without an office because they close it for Christmas. They are not services that should be allowed to take vacations either now or in summer," explains Councilwoman Carmen Fructuoso.
Therefore, it takes a motion to the Plenary so that the City Council ensures health care that its neighbors have the right to receive in the best conditions.
"If the clinics are closed, as is happening, on vacation, people, especially older people, who have difficulties moving to another center are being harmed," says Fructuoso, who recalls that, "if at least public transport were agile and efficient we could justify the closure, but that is not the case. "
In this regard, he points out that, depending on the place of residence of a patient, the office they are referred to may be several kilometers away.
Remember that the closure of the medical centers of Santa Cruz, Cañadas de San Pedro, Cabezo de la Plata and the Orzar del Azarbe has been announced, although the latter will maintain the service after the neighborhood complaints.
According to the councilor, "the government team with Mayor Ballesta at the helm should stop harming Murcia residents and provide them with all services, especially when it comes to basic care such as health care" and adds that "a administration cannot haggle with the health of citizens. "
For all these reasons, he trusts that those responsible for local and regional administrations will reconsider the closures of medical centers during holiday periods and that there will be no interruption in the provision of the service.
