On the occasion of the announcement of new actions within the framework of the DNA program La Paz, destined to the remodeling of squares and pergolas, IU-green of Murcia has shown in a video the result of the previous actions.
Specifically, in block D-2, whose facade was tuned last May in what was called “one of the largest outdoor artistic interventions in the world, with a total of 7,200 m2 of surface and in which 1,500 kilos of ecological paint will be used. ”
As you can see, the intervention was limited to the north face of the building, leaving the south facade untouched, in exactly the same condition as before.
“Ballesta's showcase policy is enough to paint one of the two facades to be able to take the propaganda photo, even if the reality is different.
We think it's a tease, a provocation and a humiliation towards the most unprotected families, ”says Alicia Martínez.
From this experience, the announcement of the new performances in squares and pergolas continues without facing a firm commitment to meet the true needs of the neighborhood to ensure its future and its integration with the rest of the city in conditions of equality.
Alicia Martínez denounces that “the commitments acquired in the Mesa for the rehabilitation of La Paz are summarized today in 'artistic interventions' that in no way correct the gradual material and social deterioration of a neighborhood object of desire for speculators”.
