The University of Murcia has received this week the visit of Kevin Lin, a BBC journalist, specialist in translation and interpretation of Chinese and first interpreter of the Foreign & Commonwealth Office.

In addition, Dr. Lin has been awarded by the Order of the British Empire in 2011 for his service to China-UK relations.
Both the rector of the UMU, José Luján, and the Vice Chancellor for Internationalization, Senena Corbalán, have expressed the interest and priority that the University of Murcia grants to relations with China, reflected in the institutional visits made to the country during this year.
The head of the International Relations Area, Matías Balibrea, also participated in the meeting;
the dean of the faculty of Letters, Pascual Cantos;
the vice-deans of International Relations of the faculties of Law and Economy and Business;
Jorge Piernas and Marcos Antón, as well as teaching staff in the Translation and Interpretation department.
All of them presented the structure of the studies in their respective faculties as well as the international aspect of the study programs and research groups, highlighting the cooperation with prestigious Chinese universities that in recent years has been developed through collaboration agreements for the exchange of students and teachers.
Kevin Lin's visit to the UMU has been possible thanks to the David Wine Collection, considered the best high quality wine supplier in China.
