The Councilor for Sustainable Mobility and Youth, Rebeca Pérez, chaired this morning the Taxi Board attended by representatives of Unión Taxi, Murcia Association of Eurotaxi, Radio Taxi and Taxi Association of Murcia.
The newest initiative is that the call for subsidies for taxi drivers who buy an electric vehicle (0 emissions) or hybrid (eco) is being studied so that the taxi fleet is also sustainable, such as buses.
During the meeting the calendar of the year 2020 has been approved, both for city and airport shifts, rotating shifts being established for weekends, from Friday from 10 pm to 2 pm on Saturday;
and on Saturdays from 2 pm to 6 am on Sunday, depending on the license number, even or odd.
Likewise, the daily compulsory release shifts are determined, with the service offer being 60% of the fleet from 5 to 15 hours and 40% from 15 hours to 1 hours.
The schedule from 1 to 5 may be made for 100% of the licenses.
In addition, it has been agreed to study by the Service to enable during the weekends a provisional stop on Enrique Villar street (in front of the Circus Theater), on Alfonso X el Sabio avenue and on Avenida Primero de Mayo, turning the areas of loading and unloading at taxi stops.
Likewise, taxi drivers have been authorized to use the 'If you want I can wait for you to enter' sticker on their vehicles, which seeks to strengthen the taxi drivers' commitment to public safety waiting for customers to enter their destination.
In this way it is intended to notify customers that taxi drivers can wait for them to access the portal or the destination they are going to, for the benefit of their safety.
