The column courtyard of the Almudí Palace will host today, at 9.30 pm, the celebration of the 'Night of Tourism Quality, a meeting in which the City of Murcia will show its recognition to the hundred companies and services of the municipality distinguished with the' Tourist Quality Commitment '.

A badge that is obtained after the fulfillment of the requirements established in the Manuals of Good Practices and the passing of an external evaluation that guarantees the quality of its products and services.

Winners

Among the winners are travel agencies, restaurants, bars and cafes, shops, convention bureau, permanent scenic spaces, tourist guides, hotels, museums and tourist interest centers, tourist information offices, professional congress organizers, congress palaces, leisure parks, public safety (Local Police and Civil Protection Service) and taxis.

During the evening, the Councilor for Tourism, Pedro García Rex, will highlight "the work, effort and commitment of all these companies and services of the municipality to adapt their facilities, equipment and services and adapt them to the needs and expectations of customers, contributing to make Murcia a quality tourist destination. "

Quality is everyone's business

Under the slogan "Quality is everyone's things", the 'Night of Tourism Quality' also aims to raise awareness in society as a whole that tourism is not only the competence of administrations, but also to increase the number of People who visit Murcia need the effort and commitment of all.

The capital of the Region has been the destination of SICTED (Integral Tourist Quality System in Destinations) for thirteen years.

The nomination of Murcia 'Best Destination SICTED 2018', with the support of the Secretary of State for Tourism, has meant a definite push in the positioning of the municipality as a quality tourist reference.

In this sense, the mayor Pedro García Rex stressed that "to the recognition of Murcia as 'Best SICTEC Destination' we must add the intense work of awareness and training developed during these years by the agents involved, both public and private; as his enormous effort to extend and consolidate the quality culture in Murcia.
