The Councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé, has attended today the presentation of the Guide for Good Local Government in Castellón de la Plana, a publication made by the Network of Local Entities for Transparency and Citizen Participation of the Federation Spanish of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP).
The act has had the president of the Diputación de Castellón, José Pascual Martí, as well as other Valencian authorities and municipal representatives.
The event has dealt with the concept of 'Good Governance in the XXI', a responsibility of the administrations to promote policies of transparency of public activity that ensure compliance with their obligations.
"From the City of Murcia, and more specifically from the council that I lead, we are committed to designing actions that guarantee good practices, focused on citizen participation and transparency policy," says Mercedes Bernabé.
The councilor highlights some steps that from the session are being carried out in this area, such as the Circular Economy Strategy, the design of the Murcia Brand or the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy based on transparency.
"With this last document, Murcia will become the first city in Spain to develop a CSR project, so we will be pioneers of good practice in Europe," concludes the mayor.
Mercedes Barnabas recalls that the City of Murcia is adhered to the code of good governance of the FEMP, "so our assistance to this day is also key to strengthen our commitment to transparency."
