Painting, English, yoga and pilates are some of the activities taught from this space, which has more than 300 attached.
Currently the City of Murcia has 75 centers of these characteristics, in which more than 10,000 users participate.
The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the Councilor for Social and Family Rights, Pilar Torres, inaugurates this afternoon the Women's Center of Cabezo de Torres, which has more than 300 users and is located on the ground floor of the Center Multi-purpose municipal district, in Infanta Cristina street.
"This is the Women's Center with more history of our municipality, founded in 1984, the first one that was created," said the mayor of Murcia, who added that "since then, more and more facilities have been enabled, forming a network of 75 municipal centers of these characteristics that we currently have in the municipality and that have more than 10,000 users ”.
During the event, visitors can see an exhibition about the different workshops that are held in this space, with pictures and samples of embroidery and bobbins, among others.
The event will be attended by the president of the Board of Directors of the center, Carmen Morales, as well as members of the Board.
650 square meters for training and cultural activities
Specifically, the Women's Center of Cabezo de Torres has an area of ​​300 square meters and has two rooms to carry out its activities, as well as a warehouse and an office.
This space, in turn, is located in the building of the Multipurpose Center of the district, which as a whole has 650 square meters, built by the City of Murcia with an investment close to 600,000 euros.
In addition, in the Municipal Multipurpose Center of Cabezo de Torres is the mayor's office of the district.
From the center, training courses of the City of Murcia are also held and cultural trips are organized.
Workshops, training courses and trips
Specifically, the Women's Center of Cabezo de Torres was founded in 1984, becoming the first women's center of the City of Murcia, although it was not until February 2016 when it was established in its current location.
Pilates, yoga, painting, English, embroidery, cutting and sewing, as well as lace and bobbins are the workshops that are taught in their rooms, Monday through Friday.
His office is open during the morning, from 10 am to 12 noon, and in the afternoon, from 5 pm to 7 pm.
The only requirement to register as a user is to be of legal age.
