Murcia is once again an international example of a city project.
On this occasion, the municipality, through the European Programs Service under the Department of Urban Agenda and Open Government, has presented its city strategy at the European meeting of the UDN Network of the European Commission that was held this week in Santiago de Compostela.
The event 'Sharing experiences for the future in Spain, Portugal and Italy' has been organized by Urban Development Nework (UDN) and has brought together representatives of the national and local authorities of Spain, Portugal and Italy, as well as experts from these countries .
The Councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé, explained that “the seminar has given participants the opportunity to take stock of achievements and discuss common challenges, opportunities and concrete solutions on sustainable urban development.
It has also served as a platform for the exchange of ideas and good practices for the preparation of the next generation of urban strategies in the European Cohesion Policy 2021-2027 â€.
Within this framework, Murcia has presented its city strategy as a national pilot experience because it is one of the strategies financed by the ERDF funds with a higher level of implementation at the national level.
In parallel, he has advised the rest of Spanish cities on how to solve the possible problems encountered during implementation.
Likewise, the European Commission has taken advantage of the event to advance to the cities information on the main key aspects for the next 2020-2027 financing period and on the importance of European cities starting to work on the implementation of the 2030 Urban Agenda Recall that in this area Murcia is good national practice for the implementation of the Spanish urban Agenda 2030.
