The Department of Citizen Security and Economic Management, directed by Eduardo Martínez-Oliva, has prepared a complete and detailed security plan for the Christmas holidays in which the device prepared by the Local Police is collected to ensure the mobility and road safety of the citizens, on the one hand, and promote theft prevention and unauthorized street sales, on the other.
This plan has been outlined during the Local Security Board held yesterday.
This large special safety and traffic device, which will remain activated between December 2 and January 7, seeks to respond to the many scheduled events, facilitating the necessary conditions so that each and every one of them can be developed within a few Sufficient levels of security and normality.
The General Traffic Plan, consisting of 40 agents of the multi-purpose groups and motorists and 50 neighborhood agents, will have as specific missions to avoid double rows of vehicles, ensure that disabled areas are respected, avoid stops and parking in Bus areas and taxis, parking control in loading and unloading areas and ensure that sidewalks and pedestrian areas are respected.
Depending on the intensity of the traffic, this plan will have traffic regulation points established sequentially, in which the driver will see the agents continuously throughout their itinerary, in order to provide Vehicles maximum ease of movement.
As for the Specific Security Plan, its purpose is to increase security and normal citizen coexistence, reinforcing the service with uniformed patrols in the commercial area of ​​the city, center and neighborhood of El Carmen, with special emphasis on the control of street sales Unauthorized and prevention of violations of municipal regulations, as well as other criminal or criminal behavior.
This plan will be made up of 50 agents of the Special Group of Citizen Security, with the complement of 30 members of Neighborhood Police and Citizen Security, who will patrol the assigned areas on foot, with the support of the Group patrol vehicles.
The schedule will coincide with that of the commercial activity, covering every day, weekdays and holidays, adapting to the different needs according to the day:
Mornings: from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Afternoons: from 5:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Nights: from 9:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
Preferred areas are Plaza de Santo Domingo, Alfonso X El Sabio and nearby, Plaza Julián Romea, Platería y Trapería streets, Plaza de los Apóstoles, Plaza de Belluga y Glorieta de España, Plaza de Cetina, Plaza de la Cruz, and Calle Correos , Gran Vía Sculptor Salzillo, Plaza de la Fuensanta, Avenue of the Constitution and Freedom, Plaza de las Flores and Santa Catalina, Plano de San Francisco and Garden of the Malecon and Garden of Floridablanca and Alameda de Colón.

Also on the eve of Kings Day agents will ensure that the Three Kings' Parade runs normally.
In districts, the controls of the Decentralization Unit will contact the Presidents of the Neighborhood Boards in order to meet the needs that, in view of these holidays, the neighbors have been able to send them.
This information will be used to program the specific devices that are considered necessary in each case: preventive patrols on foot, security controls, static surveillance or collaboration in events of various types.
They will also be part of this personal device of Firefighters and Civil Protection volunteers, whose work will focus on support and collaboration in preventive tasks, information to the citizen, location of lost children, help for the elderly, health care (first aid), among Other actions.
