The municipal Plenary has unanimously approved to submit to public information during the period of one month the progress of the project of modification of the General Plan that affects the catalog of protected goods related to the Royal Factory of Salitre / Pólvora de Murcia.

Until now, the card referring to the Royal Powder Factory of the PECHAM catalog only protected its main building with grade 2

With today's agreement it is cataloged, within the file of the Saltpeter Factory, in addition to the chimney and the hermitage that already were as separate elements, the rest of the properties that still exist and that belonged to the aforementioned factory.

Now it is sought to complete the catalog sheet of the Historic Joint Plan of Murcia, called 'Powder Factory' to delimit the whole, which will be renamed 'Royal Factory of Salitres de Murcia' and expand the property listed on said sheet by including The entire building.

In addition, the rest of the constructions that originally belonged to the Factory and that are still to be cataloged are the Acequia Aljufía, the armband of the Acequia de Caravija, the hydraulic constructions linked to these ditches, the central Paseo that has its origin at the entrance of the main building of the Royal Salt Factory of Murcia and the adjacent garden.

Four new files will also be created for the PGMO catalog with the necessary measures for the protection and rehabilitation of spaces, constructions and elements belonging to the Royal Saltpeter Factory of Murcia, not located within the Special Historic Joint Plan of Murcia, as they are the Salitre Afino Workshop Library (former municipal statistical office headquarters), the refining workshop (current Bullfighting Club headquarters), the Salitre Garden Central Promenade and the Agramizas Fireplace.

The purpose of this action is to protect these cultural values ​​and extend their protection with respect to the current regulation.

Execution of the roundabout access branch located in the Sangonera la Verde variant

The Plenary also approved the file for initial approval of the project to obtain land for the execution of the branch of access to the roundabout located in the Sangonera la Verde variant through the expropriation system.

Thanks to this action, the City Council will acquire the necessary land, of almost 500 square meters, for the construction of this new road that will allow direct access to vehicles that arrive from the roundabout of the Sangonera la Verde variant to the urban nucleus located in the southern part of the village.

Now the project will be submitted to a public exhibition for a month for interested parties to examine the file and make the allegations they deem appropriate.
