The Councilor for Sustainable Mobility and Youth, Rebeca Pérez, visited IES Saavedra Fajardo this morning to present the IRIS Project, promoted by the Transparency Council and in which the Youth Service collaborates.
This initiative seeks to apply a program for teaching transparency, good governance and social participation for first-year high school students in the Region of Murcia.
Thus, the general objective of the project is to design, apply and evaluate a pilot teaching-learning program for Transparency, Good Governance and Participation within the framework of the Philosophy of First Baccalaureate Subject.
Rebeca Pérez explained that "what we want is to bring the values ​​of transparency and participation to young people so that they can normalize it and serve as a value for personal growth."
The project has been an initiative of a group of teachers and volunteers, who have worked in coordination with the Society of Philosophy of the Region of Murcia, with the collaboration of the Presidency of the Transparency Council of the Region of Murcia and other promoters and sponsors .
Thus, high school students know and implement fundamental rights such as the right to information, the right to know and the right to participate in institutions.
A total of 736 students from eight municipalities in the Region participated in the last edition of this program
