The Councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé, inaugurated this morning the meeting in Murcia of the European project 'Compete4SECAP', which offers 32 cities in eight countries the possibility of implementing an energy management system certified by ISO 50001 .
The mayor explains that this certification helps to achieve a significant reduction in the consumption of primary energy associated with the consumption of municipal buildings.
Thus, this morning, a total of 10 partners have come together, from Croatia, Italy, Germany, Latvia, Hungary, France, Cyprus and Spain.
The objective of this meeting has been to address aspects related to the process of implementing the municipal energy management system, as well as the current situation of the energy competition in which the City of Murcia participates with the Plaza de Europa, Abenarabi and Agencia de Local development.
In addition, the details of the transition from PAES to PACES have been evaluated within the framework of the Covenant of Mayors.
That is, how to approach the transition from the 2020 objectives to those of 2030 in the mitigation of climate change, as well as how to deal with, in a feasible way, the planning of local adaptation.
“Participation and collaboration are decisive to move towards sustainable urban development, promoting policies that respect the environment and also promoting traffic towards the circular economy,†concludes the councilor.
