The University of Murcia has received recognition at the XIII ISACA Valencia Congress, which was held on November 14 and 15 under the theme 'Artificial Intelligence New Challenges in IT Audit, Security and Government'.
Specifically, the prize received was in the category 'Government of Information Systems 2019', which rewards the best practices of Government in Information Technology (IT).
It was collected by the Vice Chancellor of Strategy and Digital University, Pedro Miguel Ruiz, by the hand of Roberto Soriano, president of ISACA Valencia, and Óscar Bou, Director of Operations (COO) of GOVERTIS.
Thanks to this award, the UMU joins the prestigious institutions and companies awarded in previous years in the same category, such as European Data Protection Supervisor, RENFE, JRC of the European Commission, or INTECO, among others.
The IT Government at the University of Murcia
The UMU Digital Strategy is committed to making the most of new technologies to put the user at the center of all university activities.
In this sense, one of the key points is to govern the technologies so that they are aligned not only with the digital strategy, but with the global strategy of the university.
The University of Murcia has been carrying out tasks related to good governance practices of Information Technology (IT) since 2011.
A characteristic example of IT governance is the allocation of budget priorities and actions to be carried out in IT.
Specifically, the 2020 (Portico) project portfolio that will establish next year's developments after its approval in the IT Government Strategy Committee is currently open.
