The city of Murcia will host next year the celebration of the Passivhaus conference, an annual state-level event and reference in the field of high energy efficiency.
This was communicated by the organization during the day held this week in Burgos and in which the Councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé, intervened through videoconference.
“It is very positive news for our city, because we have committed ourselves to the determination necessary to make important and necessary changes that help improve the quality of life of people,†says the councilor.
The Passivhaus Building Platform is responsible for organizing this day whose main objective is to provide a meeting forum for the entire construction sector, such as technicians, administration, manufacturers and, in general, all the agents involved in the design process , promotion, construction and use of buildings.
"Murcia is worthy of hosting this congress because it is a city that has been transformed, favoring the creation of new green lungs, new models of sustainable mobility or self-sufficient public buildings," explains the mayor.
Likewise, the mayor recalls that the Murcian council is currently immersed in the elaboration of its Circular Economy strategy, that of the Murcia Brand, as well as the project 'Murcia Responsible City', in which the City Council will become the first from Spain to have a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy based on transparency.
“Cities are co-responsible for environmental impacts and the high consumption of natural resources generated by the linear economic model and, therefore, must play an essential role in the transition to a circular economic model,†he concludes.
