The head of Citizen Security in the City of Murcia emphasizes that "the socialist municipal group criticizes a measure that was adopted by its own secretary general, Diego Conesa, when he was mayor of Alhama."
The Councilor for Citizen Security and Economic Management, Eduardo Martínez-Oliva, responds to the socialist municipal group that "security in the municipality of Murcia must be covered with minimum guarantees."
The mayor explains that having completed the planned hours of CRJ (Extraordinary Service Supplement Reinforcement Days), "from the council we offer agents a bag of overtime voluntary affiliation in order to cover the month and a half that remains of the year, since with the entry into force of 2020 a new CRJ is launched. "
"The alteration of rest shifts will not affect, as is evident, the entire workforce, but those agents that are accurate and necessary to meet the demand for weekend services," says Martínez-Oliva.
Explains the municipal head of Public Safety that this police bag has not signed enough police to cover the service with minimum guarantees on weekends, so, with an exercise of responsibility and with the corresponding legal protection, has chosen to adopt the agreement for the modification of rest shifts.
"The attitude of the PSOE surprises me again and again, do what I say but not what I do. This same measure was adopted by his secretary general, Diego Conesa, when he was mayor of Alhama in the same situation. That sure they understood and justified the same councilors who criticize him today, "says Martínez-Oliva.
The councilman affirms that "the residents of the municipality must be guaranteed at all times the minimum police services, both from the point of view of security, traffic control, and the guarantee of compliance with municipal ordinances, to which, without giving up dialogue or negotiation, will take the necessary measures. "
To alleviate the early retirements that have occurred as a result of the decree that enabled early retirement at age 59, the City Council currently has two oppositions underway: one that is made up of 46 agents who will start the Academy period (4 months ) and subsequently 3 months of internships already in the street;
and the other one is 64 places, from which the list of admitted students has already been published and the first exam will be carried out shortly.
In addition, on October 20, 6 agents were incorporated per mobility system and another 16 agents will be incorporated before the end of the year.
On the other hand, in the coming months, the contracting of external security for the surveillance of municipal buildings will proceed, which will allow 20 agents that currently provide this service to join street services.
