The Councilor for Culture and Heritage Recovery, Jesús Pacheco, has visited the restoration work of the monument to the Count of Floridablanca, which will be completed before the end of the year.
This intervention includes the complete restoration of the monument to the Count of Floridablanca, of Santiago Baglietto of 1848, both outside and inside and the basement, the pedestal and the column shaft.
The work is being carried out by a team of professional restaurateurs and their work is being supervised by the municipal archaeologist and by technicians of the General Directorate of Cultural Property, as it is carried out within a Cultural Interest Property.
Thus, among the actions that have been carried out is an integral cleaning of the whole eliminating added coatings, the extraction of salt efflorescence accumulated in the stone and the structural consolidation giving stability to the whole of the sculpture.
This project has been written after an in-depth study has been carried out in order to guarantee its correct conservation and stability in the future.
The restoration works of the monument to the Count of Floridablanca are being carried out by Construcciones y Excavaciones Sánchez López SLU with an investment of 41,580 euros.
