The Councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé, receives the representatives of these countries, within the International Urban Cooperation (IUC), who wanted to know the ISO 50.001 regulations of the session, as well as exchange experiences on different European projects.
The Councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé, has received this morning a delegation from Guelph (Canada) and Rijeka (Croatia) that these days visit the city within the International Urban Cooperation (IUC) to exchange experiences in the implementation of ISO 50.001, as well as knowing the management of different European R&D projects in the municipality of Murcia, such as Valuewaste or Heatland.
IUC is promoted by the European Union and focused on international urban cooperation, where Murcia shares its knowledge in innovation and development with the city of Solapur (India), specifically in sustainable urban development from governance and regeneration, public spaces and services, as well as water management.
“In this way, the visit of the delegation of Canada and Croatia is contextualized within the framework of this program, as their municipalities are in the process of implementing ISO 50.001 and Murcia is a pioneer in this issue,†explains Mercedes Bernabé.
ISO 50.001 is the standard that regulates energy management in companies.
This certification establishes a series of procedures and records on energy issues through a work of gathering information in different areas, such as air conditioning, energy, electricity, maintenance or legalization of facilities).
The mayor says that after this process a series of procedures and records have been drafted, in accordance with ISO 50.001, and by December 13 “the auditor of the Spanish Association for Standardization and Certification (AENOR) will come again to Give us the certificate. â€
“Participation and collaboration become a way of learning between cities towards sustainable urban development, also promoting the transit to the circular economy,†concludes the councilor.
