The Councilor for Sustainable Mobility and Youth, Rebeca Pérez along with representatives of Ferrovial Services, has attended the presentation of the new educational video 'Come with Lili to Cañada Hermosa' that has been made at the Public School of Our Lady of Carmen of Murcia.
The 15-minute projection is a didactic unit on waste and environment where Lili's character, the waste ecoelfa, introduces students to this important environmental issue.
The recording has been made in a modern format, where real images, 3D explanations and other advanced image technology resources are combined, which convert the information into a dynamic, agile and instructive educational resource.
This new teaching unit is part of the school awareness campaign that takes place annually in the schools of the municipality of Murcia next to Ferrovial Services, and will serve as an educational resource both in schools, in talks aimed at the second tranche of Primary Education, as well as in the visit to Cañada Hermosa.
All these campaigns annually reach about 15,000 students.
"We consume products that, for their manufacture, need many times scarce natural resources and, once used we throw them away. We must implement a new model of circular economy, where our waste is less and less and at the end of its useful life become resources. The objective of the video is to transmit to the students how to adopt a culture of responsibility for this issue, which is fundamental for our environment today, "said Councilwoman Rebeca Pérez.
"It is our commitment to change the behavior of each citizen starting from the youngest by instilling these concepts that must be assumed in their daily lives by putting them into practice. The technologies we have today have the ability to recycle a large majority of products that we discard. We work with programs for carbon reduction, waste minimization, reuse and recycling efficiently and effectively. "
According to Pérez "this can be verified in this new video where Lili goes through Cañada Hermosa teaching the whole process that applies to how much waste there is. The last step is in the hands of each one. We are aware that we only have one planet and we must take advantage of every product and resource we have. We need to take on the challenge to protect our environment. We have no other solution. "
The character of Lili is known to children as she accompanied the last Christmas parties to those who came to know her and learn to reuse waste making them beautiful new objects and at the same time learned to make a proper separation of packaging waste.
This character has been the resource used as a thread for the transmission of information.
The video has also been prepared with a coherent didactic information structure.
It is integrated into the educational project to serve as a support tool for teachers and appropriate to the level of the second tranche of Primary Education.
Although it is considered a children's video, it has worked with rigor and analysis on the issue of waste to motivate learning and allowing students to come into contact with reality.
At the end of the projection, the monitors of the concessionaire company Ferrovial Servicios carry out a joint project to reinforce concepts learned, solve doubts and provide simple advice for the reduction, reuse and guidelines of a correct separation to assimilate them to our daily lives, encouraging active participation of the attendees.
