The University of Murcia has acquired a new tool that will facilitate the possibility of evaluation with full guarantees in titles that are studied in the distance mode.
This is FACEidentity, a program that allows a student to be correctly identified through a facial verification process and that monitors in an individualized and constant way the sessions in which said evaluation is carried out.
In this way, teachers can have guarantees that whoever is taking the exam is the person enrolled.
FACEidentity is especially aimed at conducting online exams and the University of Murcia, through the Vice-Rectorate of Studies, has decided to test it in studies that are taught in non-face-to-face mode.
It is the people who coordinate these degrees who must request their use, which can be applied experimentally already in the evaluations of this course.
The system will be integrated through the Virtual Classroom for those degrees that request it.
At the University of Murcia there are currently three degrees in online mode: Sociology, International Relations (through the affiliated center of the Faculty of Tourism) and Security (ISEN affiliated center);
and seven master's degrees.
"The objective of this measure is twofold; on the one hand it is about giving tools to reinforce the quality systems in the evaluation; and on the other hand, marking a future path to expand the students of these online studies outside our borders" , explains Sonia Madrid, Vice Chancellor for Studies at the University of Murcia.
Currently, in online studies in which the evaluation depends on an exam, it must be done in person.
