Somos Región openly expresses itself against the measure launched by the VOX councilor, José Ángel Antelo, and approved in the City of Murcia, to modify the current model of public subsidies to sports entities in the municipality in favor of a sponsorship agreement that benefit some professional entities such as El Pozo de Murcia Futsal or the UCAM CB Murcia.
From Somos Región we advocate a defense and empowerment of our grassroots sport through a call for a more transparent municipal public subsidy, where a Transparency and Supervision Commission is established for the debate, consensus and establishment of the order to call it .
For the regionalist party's sports spokesman, "contrary to the sponsorship proposal promoted by VOX and approved by the City of Murca, from Somos Región, we advocate an extreme defense of grassroots sport in school age, adolescence, the elderly and social exclusion groups for the practice of healthy sports physical activity with economic endowments according to the equity parameters established in the call for municipal public subsidy of the City of Murcia ".
Regarding the external tourism promotion of the city of Murcia through the sponsorship suggested by VOX in the City of Murcia, Somos Región believes that, "in these moments of optimization of public spending, professional sports should be excluded from the competition to receive public subsidy, and in this sense, proposes that there is transparency as to what name the professional sports entities for profit of the municipality go to the public subsidy. "
In this sense, our spokesman Antonio Salmerón proposes that the sports organizations of grassroots sport, whose professional sports staff is located on the cusp, do not establish an economic membership and participation fee when they receive municipal public subsidy.
Salmerón also wanted to clarify that, "Somos Región contemplates a tourism promotion plan for Murcia and the Region of Murcia through the campaigns carried out by the Ministry of Tourism, since our Region is a privileged scenario for sports outdoors, with consequent promotion of outdoor sports. "
