The City of Murcia, coordinated by the Department of Urban Agenda and Open Government directed by Mercedes Bernabé, has convened for November 4 the first sectorial table of the diagnosis for the development of the Local Strategy of Circular Economy of the city of Murcia.
This is the first phase of public participation to obtain the opinion of the agents involved in this process.
Thus, this first table will be formed by the municipal technicians with competencies in the areas affected by said Strategy.
“This process will serve to identify municipal actions based on the Circular Economy model, look for opportunities and detect barriers to the development of these actions,†highlights Mercedes Bernabé.
The mayor says that "public participation turns out to be an indispensable element for the correct development and implementation of initiatives that affect the future of the city."
The municipal table will be held on November 4, from 10 am to 1 pm in the Moneo Building, with the participation of municipal technicians with competencies in the field of Circular Economy.
This process, which will be energized by CETENMA, is carried out simultaneously with the collection and analysis of the relevant documentation, which has already begun.
Through innovative and participatory dynamics, the meeting will be held that will have three main objectives: the first one will be to identify municipal actions developed in a circular economy;
the second will be to look for new opportunities;
and the third will be to detect problems / barriers for the development of these actions.
The achievement of these objectives will allow establishing a hierarchy in the problems to be solved and actions to be implemented for each of the identified action axes: consumption, waste management, water management, sustainability of urban spaces, mobility and transversality policies.
These tables will be followed soon by two others: the company, with the presence of those companies with the greatest potential to apply technologies, solutions and principles of Circular Economy;
and that of experts, with the participation of technology centers, universities, associations and professional associations.
“The celebration of this first table represents an important milestone in the ambitious process of public participation established for the development of the Local Strategy of Circular Economy,†concludes the mayor.
