The University of Murcia opens this Thursday, October 31, the first forum '4 Looks towards the Environment, which will take place in the room of degrees of the Faculty of Biology, at 12 hours.
The event will feature the presence, among others, of Longinos Marín, Vice Chancellor of Social Responsibility and Transparency of the UMU;
Antonio José Carrasco, Campus Infrastructure coordinator;
and Alfonsa García Ayala, dean of the Faculty of Biology.
Next, Pedro Rodríguez, from Navantia, will give the conference 'How to manage 5,000 tons of waste in the Region of Murcia'.
This forum, which will extend its sessions until April 2020, arises from the proposal of a student of the degree in Environmental Sciences of the UMU, Eva María Pérez Lajarín, who has been seconded by the decanal team of the Faculty of Biology.
"We live a crucial moment in the defense of the environment and it is our responsibility to call on society, in general, and our students, in particular, dealing with aspects related to waste management, the Mar Menor, climate change or the Murcian orchard, with a scientific and social perspective "explain the organizers.
