The Councilor for Education and Kindergartens, Belén López, together with the technicians of the Education Service, visited the facilities of the ONCE delegation in Murcia today to organize the Open House Days that will take place next February.
“The objective of this activity is to sensitize schoolchildren about the integration of people with visual disabilities, awaken attitudes of acceptance and respect, as well as discover the new technologies they work with,†said Belén López.
Through this program, schoolchildren will know the materials used by students with visual disabilities in the classroom, such as the Braille typewriter, adapted maps and models, as well as the literacy system for the blind, carrying out a small reading activity .
In addition, they will visit the visual rehabilitation room of the ONCE, where they can see all kinds of optical and non-optical aids for students and various mobility techniques.
Likewise, this visit will offer students the opportunity to learn about new technologies for people with visual disabilities, such as different computer materials, software, computers or mobile phones.
Finally, schoolchildren will know the objects adapted for sports, as well as leisure and cultural activities that are carried out in the ONCE.
